Try one building block

Keep named secrets out of structured log output.

A short lesson installs the public mgf-common 0.52.0 wheel from the Foundation's package index and uses its real logging and redaction APIs. It checks the demonstrated output and shows a boundary the redactor does not cross.

The catalogue below is generated from the Foundation's registry. A registered version records coordination state; the package index is the separate record of what an anonymous visitor can actually install.

Two bodies of work

A federation of libraries, and a systems-software family.

They share Foundation purpose and stewardship, but follow distinct family standards. Each keeps its own registry and states its own access boundary.

The Magogi libraries

Active development

55 registered libraries and applications

The Magogi libraries are in active development: registered, versioned, depended on across the fleet, and installable from the Foundation's own package index, which is open to anyone. Their source repositories are not anonymously accessible.

Every project the federation registers appears in one generated registry, with its registered version — the count on this page is computed from that registry, not typed. recorded at build · 2026-09-16

One of them — mgf-common — is depended on by 39 of the others.

One library is depended on by most of the others; the dependency count is computed from the registry's own reverse-dependency lists. recorded at build · 2026-09-16

The registry records python for 41 entries and zig for 6; the remaining 8 record a kind rather than a language: 2 brand-asset repositories, 1 documentation repository, 1 monorepo, 1 entry the registry files only as “other”, 1 proof repository, 1 project template and 1 web surface (this site).

The registry records each project's language; the breakdown shown is counted from it. recorded at build · 2026-09-16

Every project reads as though one hand wrote it.

The sooth family

Active development

10 members in the family's own registry

sooth is in active development and developed privately. A private hosted v0.9.0 kernel release exists; it is not a public operating-system download. Real hardware and real mesh transport remain deferred, and public distribution is a separate milestone.

The sooth family's membership is read from the family's own registry and cross-checked against the brand's pinned numbers. recorded at build · 2026-09-13

The family appears in the catalogue below by name, with the state its own registry records. Everything else about it — the roster, the rings, the pinned numbers — is on the sooth page.

Seven clusters

What each group owns — and what it does not.

A cluster that cannot say what it is not has not been designed. Each card states both.

  • Foundational libraries

The floor everything else stands on.

One cornerstone library and one standard, plus the adapters that carry them into web, database and authentication work. A project adopts these first and inherits typed errors, one configuration object, structured logging with redaction, and a test discipline it did not have to design.

13 of its projects appear on this site

What it owns — and what it does not

    What it owns

    • the shared error, configuration, logging and tracing surfaces
    • the rule corpus and the federation contract every repository conforms to
    • the adapter seams that keep third-party libraries replaceable

    What it does not

    • hold any domain logic — a library that would only ever serve one application does not belong here
    • reach for a hosted service; these are libraries, not infrastructure
    • promise a public package index: the packages resolve from the Foundation's own index
  • VManager — the virtual-machine stack

A working application, and the libraries that were carved out of it.

Virtual-machine management for Linux, built the way the contract requires: a pure domain library first, hypervisor and storage adapters behind interfaces, then the command-line tool and the desktop interface on top. The application is the visible half; the seams are the point.

9 of its projects appear on this site

What it owns — and what it does not

    What it owns

    • the virtual-machine domain model, its state machine and its contracts
    • the hypervisor and storage adapters that implement those contracts
    • the client library both the command line and the desktop interface import

    What it does not

    • run a hosted control plane — this is software you would run yourself
    • tie the domain model to one hypervisor; the second adapter exists to prove that
    • claim a public download today
  • Hardware resource broker

Who is allowed to touch which piece of hardware, and on what terms.

A userspace broker that arbitrates hardware — PCIe, USB, GPU, CPU — with a Zig core underneath and a Python interface above, connected by a socket rather than a foreign-function binding. The Zig leaves below it are deliberately small: a vocabulary, an abstract kernel seam, a capability engine, and runtime primitives.

8 of its projects appear on this site

What it owns — and what it does not

    What it owns

    • the resource vocabulary and the claim/lease model
    • the abstract kernel seam and its conformance suite — a new backend is correct exactly when that suite is green
    • capability rights whose attenuation can only shrink authority

    What it does not

    • replace the operating system's drivers
    • require the from-scratch capability kernel it is designed to be liftable onto — that remains an ambition, not a shipped thing
    • expose raw register access as an ordinary right
  • Telematics

A vendor-neutral seam, and the first vendor behind it.

The interface for vehicle and asset telematics is defined once, with typed frames, typed errors and a mock; a device vendor's decoder then implements it. The order matters — the seam existed before the vendor, so a second vendor is an addition rather than a rewrite.

2 of its projects appear on this site

What it owns — and what it does not

    What it owns

    • the provider interface, the frame types and the failure vocabulary
    • a mock implementation so consumers can be tested without hardware
    • one concrete decoder implementation

    What it does not

    • assume one vendor's protocol is the architecture
    • include the fleet-operations application itself — that is a separate venture that consumes this seam
  • Cloud & cost

How the Foundation runs its own machines — and watches the bill.

Internal infrastructure: an interface over cloud resources, declarative provisioning of the self-hosted services the estate depends on, a single-user local console, and a daily cost check whose failure is the alert.

4 of its projects appear on this site

What it owns — and what it does not

    What it owns

    • the Foundation's own virtual machines, storage and provisioning
    • a cost estimate that runs on a schedule and fails loudly

    What it does not

    • offer hosting to anyone — the local console binds to the loopback interface and its own documentation disclaims being a service
    • belong on a product list; it is shown inside the engineering story
  • Fleet engineering practice

The estate's most distinctive work is how it is operated.

An orchestrator that runs cross-repository work in dependency order, a resources spine both consoles read from, a testing authority where a test cannot run twice at once, browser- and desktop-level UI testing tiers, a credential plane that stores no secret values, log shipping that fails open, and a proof repository whose entire purpose is to be checked. Also folded in here: the brand and media plane and this site — site-supporting infrastructure, not site content.

15 of its projects appear on this site

What it owns — and what it does not

    What it owns

    • release order, gates, drift checks and fleet status
    • the record that a suite really ran, and what hung or crashed
    • the declaration of every credential — with no values in the registry
    • runnable proofs that produce identical digests on different processor architectures

    What it does not

    • constitute a product — none of this is offered to anyone
    • publish continuous-integration results: those live on a private server and no durable artifact is exported yet
    • publish coverage percentages; the thresholds are committed policy, the measured numbers are not durable
  • Applications & ventures

Products in preparation, stated as such.

Applications built on the federation rather than inside it: a fleet-operations platform, a structured-debate platform, and a camera-platform design study. Their maturities differ sharply, so each carries its own honest wording instead of a shared marketing tone.

3 of its projects appear on this site

What it owns — and what it does not

    What it owns

    • the domain and the customer-facing shape of each venture
    • the honest state of each: in preparation, in design, or deliberately not presented

    What it does not

    • claim availability, deployment or customers for anything here
    • carry the reusable logic — by contract that lives in a library first
    • include every application the estate has built: one is held back pending a positioning decision

A camera platform exists as a design study: the design suite and contract skeletons are real, the implementation is not.

The catalogue

Every project this site publishes, in one list.

Rendered in full at build. The search and group filter are an enhancement on top of the complete list — with scripting off, the list is unchanged.

Versions shown here are the versions the registry records for the working tree. The package index is the publication contract, and the two are not guaranteed to agree — the index is what an install command actually resolves against. recorded at build · 2026-09-04

The registry snapshot this site reads carries the date it was generated upstream. recorded at build · 2026-09-16

The status model defines shipping, planned, private and pending as separate state words; badges render only from its locked vocabulary.

The trust-first mesh: networking work with explicit routing, trust, and provenance decisions.

Dependency counts are the federation's own and follow the registry's declared scopes, as the explorer counts them: runtime deps is how many registered projects this one declares as runtime dependencies — direct declarations, the number the explorer prints beside each component; the transitive graph that enters with it is on the project's own page — and a +N beside it is how many further declarations are optional or test-only; runtime-used by is how many registered projects declare this one as a runtime dependency. The sooth family keeps a separate registry that records ring and conformance level, and its dependencies carry no scope, so those cells read a dash or not recorded here.

15 of them have a page of their own. The rest appear here in their cluster's context: a page with empty fields would be worse than no page.

Release waves

6 barriers, in dependency order.

A project releases only once everything it stands on has. The waves are the shape of the dependency graph, not a schedule.

Releases run in dependency-ordered waves: a library ships only once everything below it is published and live. The waves are barriers, not dates. recorded at build · 2026-09-16

We do not publish dates we cannot keep.

Six dependency-ordered waves, drawn from release_waves in mgf-libraries.json — synced from mgf-standard at 87915ba on 2026-09-16, generated upstream 2026-09-14. Bar height is the number of registered projects in the wave. The picture repeats the list below; it adds nothing to it.

How it is checked

Recorded state, package access, and project checks are separate evidence.

Each line below names the record it comes from. A registry entry or a gate description does not by itself prove a package is available or suitable for a particular use.

Every change to this repository walks the same path, and the path has gates that are able to fail: type checks, a naming and visual lint, a commit-trailer gate, a secret scan, and an interlock that keeps deployment off ordinary pushes. recorded at build · 2026-09-17

The vendored registries and brand assets carry dated source records and recorded digests. The build recomputes those digests and rejects drift. recorded at build · 2026-09-17 The snapshots are read at build and are not served as files, so they are recorded rather than re-verifiable in the page: the registry contains internal projects this site deliberately does not publish.

The engineering standard this site is built against is recorded at build from the standard's own package metadata. recorded at build · 2026-09-04

The value recorded in this build is 0.1.84, and the standards corpus is locked at 3.0.0.

The standard, the libraries and the proofs are meant to be read, not taken on faith. recorded at build · source repositories are private
