Write about Magogi accurately.
Everything a journalist, podcaster, conference organiser, or partner needs — copy-paste boilerplate, a fact sheet, logos, colours, and usage rules.
Press inquiries: press@magogi.org. Please check claims against the fact sheet below — and please don't describe donations as tax-deductible while federal 501(c)(3) recognition is pending.
The boilerplate below is the foundation's media kit text, reproduced as written except where this site's claim registry records the kit's wording as no longer true — every such span is substituted, marked in the text, and listed underneath with the kit's own words and the reason.
Every project the federation registers appears in one generated registry, with its registered version — the count on this page is computed from that registry, not typed. recorded at build · 2026-09-16
Boilerplate
Three lengths, ready to drop into a release or a bio — the foundation's own text, reproduced as written from mgf-brand@f6bd9b8, reviewed 2026-09-13. The canonical source supplies approved outward wording; it does not establish that every media-kit gap is filled, that every package or source surface is public, or that any legal milestone has advanced.
Magogi builds open foundational software that earns trust through evidence: deterministic behavior, clear provenance, machine-verifiable claims, and shared engineering standards across libraries, tools, and systems work for people and communities.
Magogi is an open-source collective building foundational software that earns trust through evidence. Its purpose is to put dependable technology and useful knowledge within reach of people and communities. Work includes reusable mgf-* libraries and the sooth systems-software family, with Soothfast as its kernel. Selected packages are publicly installable; source access remains restricted and development continues. Magogi Foundation is the nonprofit steward. Each family follows its own engineering standard, with evidence and limits stated together.
Magogi is an open-source collective building foundational software that earns trust through evidence. It connects careful engineering to a human purpose: helping people learn, create and build lasting capability in their communities. The work concentrates on tools and the systems that other technology depends on. The mgf-* engineering family offers reusable libraries and tools governed by mgf-standard. Selected Python packages are publicly installable, including the mgf-common cornerstone. The sooth systems-software family follows its own standard and explores repeatable behavior, provenance and explicit trust boundaries. Its Soothfast kernel has a private hosted release; hardware crossings and public distribution remain milestones. The long-term strategy includes adding checkable properties to existing stacks. Magogi Foundation is the nonprofit steward. Development is active and source access remains restricted. Examples state what was tested and what the result cannot establish. The aim is useful knowledge and dependable foundations that others can understand, question and build upon.

substituted, and why
- the media kit says “Primary languages are Zig for systems work and Python for libraries and tooling.” (fact sheet: “Zig (systems), Python (libraries/tooling)”)
- The split is counted from the registry snapshot rather than asserted, so it cannot drift.
Marked spans in the sheet are this page's words, not the kit's; a span already explained under the boilerplate is not repeated here.
Registered languages, counted from the same registry: 41 Python · 6 Zig. The remaining 8 record a kind rather than a language: 2 brand-asset repositories, 1 documentation repository, 1 monorepo, 1 entry the registry files only as “other”, 1 proof repository, 1 project template and 1 web surface (this site). recorded at build · 2026-09-16
The registry records each project's language; the breakdown shown is counted from it. recorded at build · 2026-09-16
The Magogi libraries are in active development: registered, versioned, depended on across the fleet, and installable from the Foundation's own package index, which is open to anyone. Their source repositories are not anonymously accessible.
Versions shown here are the versions the registry records for the working tree. The package index is the publication contract, and the two are not guaranteed to agree — the index is what an install command actually resolves against. recorded at build · 2026-09-04
Magogi Foundation is a Washington nonprofit corporation. The incorporation date and unified business identifier are on the certificate. attested · Washington Certificate of Incorporation
Federal 501(c)(3) recognition is pending, and the application has not yet been filed.
A camera platform exists as a design study: the design suite and contract skeletons are real, the implementation is not.
Please don't describe donations as tax-deductible — federal 501(c)(3) recognition is still pending with the IRS.

What Magogi is not
- Not a Linux distribution. Magogi's flagship kernel, Soothfast, is a new operating system, not a kernel re-spin.
- Not a company. Magogi is open-source community-owned. The Foundation is a nonprofit, not a startup.
- Not “AI-powered.” Artificial intelligence appears where it improves safety and observability, and the estate records where models co-wrote the work. Magogi is not an AI product.
- Not yet shipping a complete OS. Soothfast is in active development; honest about state.
- Not exclusive to one architecture or hardware. Long-term scope spans servers, embedded, IoT.
substituted, and why
- the media kit says “AI support is in scope only where it measurably improves safety and observability”
- “Measurably” names a measurement, and no measurement is published — so the claim registry holds the weakened sentence and this page renders that.
Not a company, not a Linux distribution, not an artificial-intelligence product, not a complete operating system, and not tied to one processor architecture.
Artificial intelligence appears where it improves safety and observability, and the estate records where models co-wrote the work.
